We are seeking an expert Unreal Engine developer to significantly optimize gameplay performance and implement a robust procedural generation system for our ambitious open-world RPG. The core focus will be on improving frame rates and reducing memory usage, particularly in densely populated areas with complex environmental details. You will be responsible for profiling existing code to identify bottlenecks, implementing optimization techniques such as LOD (Level of Detail) systems, occlusion culling, and efficient rendering pipelines. A crucial component involves designing and implementing a procedural generation system that can create diverse landscapes, dungeons, and towns with varying levels of complexity. This system should be data-driven, allowing designers to easily adjust generation parameters and create unique environments without extensive code modifications. Experience with Unreal Engine's Niagara system for particle effects is a plus. Strong understanding of C++ programming, memory management, and performance profiling tools is essential. Collaboration with our art and design team will be key to ensuring the system integrates seamlessly into the overall game experience. We are looking for someone who can deliver high-quality, performant code that meets our aggressive deadlines.
