Project Description
We are seeking a skilled game developer to drastically improve the performance and enhance the core gameplay loop of our indie puzzle game, currently developed in Unity. The primary focus will be on optimizing existing code to achieve a stable 60 FPS across a range of mobile devices (iOS & Android). This includes profiling, identifying bottlenecks (CPU/GPU), and implementing efficient algorithms. Beyond performance, we need a significant upgrade to our gameplay loop – introducing new mechanics (e.g., timed challenges, combo systems), refining the difficulty curve to ensure a compelling player experience from start to finish, and incorporating engaging visual feedback (particle effects, animations) that reacts dynamically to player actions. Experience with Unity's animation system and particle systems is crucial, as is a strong understanding of mobile game performance optimization techniques (e.g., object pooling, texture compression, efficient shader usage). A portfolio demonstrating your optimization skills and ability to create addictive gameplay loops is highly desirable. We're open to creative suggestions for new game mechanics and are looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas to the table. We expect regular progress updates and clear communication throughout the project.
