Cinematic Short Film Editing and Color Grading for Sci-Fi Drama with Complex VFX Integration

We are seeking a highly skilled video editor and colorist to complete post-production on our short film, 'Echoes of the Void,' a sci-fi drama exploring themes of memory and artificial intelligence. The project requires meticulous editing, incorporating complex visual effects (VFX) created by our separate VFX team. The editor will be responsible for seamlessly integrating these effects, ensuring a cohesive and cinematic final product. Color grading is crucial; we envision a dark, atmospheric look with strategic use of highlights and shadows to enhance emotional impact. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of narrative pacing, shot composition, and color theory. Experience with sci-fi or drama genres is highly preferred. We will provide all raw footage, VFX elements (in standard formats like ProRes or PNG sequences), and a detailed style guide. The project involves approximately 45 minutes of footage, needing to be trimmed and refined to a final runtime of around 12-15 minutes. We are open to creative suggestions and collaborative feedback throughout the process, but maintaining a consistent visual aesthetic is paramount. We want someone who can tell a story visually and create an immersive experience for the viewer, using editing techniques that contribute to the dramatic tension and emotional depth of the film. It is essential the editor understands how to work with multiple audio tracks and can deliver a properly formatted final video.
