Cinematic Short Film Color Grading & Visual Effects Enhancement - 'Echoes of the Past' Project

We are seeking a skilled colorist and visual effects artist to elevate our short film 'Echoes of the Past' (approx. 7 minutes runtime). The project involves color grading a completed film shot on Sony FX6 in Rec.709, aiming for a cinematic and slightly desaturated look evoking a sense of nostalgia and mystery. We’re also looking for subtle but impactful visual effects work – primarily clean-up of minor imperfections (dust, blemishes), adding atmospheric elements like a gentle fog in specific scenes, and creating a few brief, stylized transitions between sequences. A key element is ensuring the visual effects seamlessly integrate with the existing footage, maintaining a realistic and grounded aesthetic. The film deals with themes of memory and loss, so the color grade needs to contribute to this emotional depth. Experience with DaVinci Resolve is essential, and familiarity with After Effects for simple compositing would be a significant advantage. We're open to discussing creative approaches and are looking for someone who can demonstrate an eye for detail and a passion for cinematic storytelling. We'll provide all raw footage, project files (ProRes 422 HQ), and detailed notes on desired outcomes. Communication is crucial; we’ll have regular check-in calls to review progress and provide feedback.
